Looks like I can't do it?
I get this error: "The supplied grid coverage uses an unsupported crs! You are
allowed to use only projected and geographic coordinate reference systems"
I am trying to make a GeoTiff with a PNG that uses EPSG:404000.
This is now a real blocker for me now...is there anyone who has faced this
issue?

Sounds good I'll convert to GeoTiff...is it okay for me to use EPSG:32662 with
invalid bounds with Geoserver?
Or, are you aware of what could be going wrong with EPSG:404000 support?

Geospatial or not, at some point they will have to be uncompressed, a 100MB PNG
file will become 10 times bigger in memory,
there is no surprise you have problems.
If you want to use large rasters you have to swith to TIFF (not necessarily
georeferenced)
