Ok, thanks for this info! I just downloaded this extension as I was downloading
the old Python scripting from there. Now I'm wondering why my process don't
work anymore! Can you help me with pointing to where I can find more info on
how to use it?
Thanks,
Thomas

Hey Thomas,
Sorry, i forgot to update this thread. But yes, the extension is now available
in the community nightly builds.
http://gridlock.opengeo.org/geoserver/2.2.x/community-latest/geoserver-2.2-SNAPSHOT-python-plugin.zip
Is now the new plugin. Looking forward to having you try it out.

Hi Justin,
any updates on the status of this new extension? Is it already available as
community module or do we still need to wait a bit?
Thanks,
Thomas

Is the "newer language agnostic extension" you're speaking about the one you
recently also mentioned when I was asking about better WPS support in the
python extension? This would be great!

Hi Arthur,
Unfortunately the python community module has been superseded by a newer
language agnostic extension that is currently being developed on a separate
feature branch. The hope is to add it as a community module soon at which time
we will make builds avaialble for the current stable 2.2 branch.
So the old python etension is more or less maintained but still buildable from
sources on the 2.1.x branch.
If you want to follow the development you can find the branch here:

I realize it has been awhile since the last post on this thread, but I can't
find any more information about the Python extension since then. It still is
not available for download under "Extensions" in any of the most recent
stable releases (including 2.1.4). I would really like to use this
extension. How can I get it for 2.1.4? Thanks.
