By doing a little bit more digging, and the assistance of the server support team, it was determined that the problem was being logged in the wrapper.log file. There was a problem with the PYTHONPATH environment variable. I had set it up as documented, or at least I thought that I had. I revised the PYTHONPATH, and now I am able to start the service.
I appreciate the feedback. As you can probably tell, I am new to a lot of the concepts and applications that I am working with. But, I guess the problems encountered provide opportunities to learn.
