Martin:

Signing the GT Libs is not necessary.  I think in most cases it would be better 
to have the applet under the  one signature of the client app.  Since it only 
has to be done once it's not a big time sink during the development process.

Should we sign Geotools JAR as part of the build process (I mean, can it 
be a cause of trouble for some applications?). I can add this step to 
the Maven 2 build if desired (but not in Maven 1 build). However, it may 
take a few weeks before the Maven 2 build is fully functional.
