Seriously guys want to take this to the GeoAPI list? I think we have the 
specifications now to check ... I am not sure ":" is needed by the 
specification. JNDI uses "/" in lots of places.

I think someone "just" needs to look before we leap. Perhaps reading 
Bryce's document a year later can help :-(
