When these blocking items are out of the way - yes. Basically GeoServer 
needs us to get  in gear and fix the problems marked. We talked about 
the real trouble spots in the meeting:

Here is the list from memory (but check the log):
- SQLEncoder - not all the datastores are with the program yet
- DataSource use for the JDBCDataStores
- DataSource use for referencing

And then one we *really* should do:
- Get DataStore implementations to use SimpleFeatureTypeBuilder

It is conceivable to switch to Java 5 after the SimpleFeatureTypeBuilder 
change is made. Indeed switching to Java 5 is needed for the geometry 
module to be supported (or is it? Can we ship a "mixed" library?).
