I think the main issue Jody and others are facing is that they need to redo the uDig embedded JRE every time there is an upgrade to imageio-ext and rebuild imageio-ext for OSX from sources. The latter is particularly annoying I guess. Afaik GeoSolutions is already single handedly building the binaries for Windows 32 bit, and Linux 32 and 64 bit. That's already a hell of a job, been through it. I'm wondering what can be done to help. Is the current major holdup lack of hardware/licenses or lack of time? Both? In an ideal world it would be nice to have also Win 64 and OSX builds.
