I think it is similar to an unsupported module; needing a +1 sanity check.

I have been hacking locally as I got tired of hearing troubles second hand; so 
I went through the trouble of setting up an android SDK with eclipse plugin 
etc. This is allowing me to try out the idea and see compile errors where we 
refer to part of Java that is not part of their minimal subset.

If I can get this to turn over it would be the start of a "gt-util" module; 
taking all the crazy out of gt-metadata.

One thing I can confirm already is we can make use of ServiceLocator; and avoid 
fixing all the issues required by OSGi at this time. Indeed our combo of Hints 
(no longer extending RenderingHints), and FactoryRegistery can probably 
function under andriod.

I kind of like having Andriod as a target for GeoTools; while we won't be able 
to get all of the library to work it seems we will get some of it to turn over.
