Besides databases, another avenue that we could consider is standing up a
GeoServer and then enable online tests
for the wms, wfs and wps clients... that would also be quite good imho
The SOLR module also has online tests, not sure if we want to go there
though, at the very least, I'd do the OGC protocol
clients first.
