While upgrading and porting some of our legacy applications I noticed
GeoTools 18 is using JDom 1.1.3 which is a fairly old version. (and
dragging it back in)
At some point in time the JDom project decided to rename their packages
(or.jdom -> org.jdom2) which bit me because the old jdom was still around
as a transitive dependency...
JDom itself only has some optional dependencies, so that shouldn't be a big
deal.
I could prepare a PR for upgrading both GeoTools and Geoserver to the
current release which is 2.0.6 [1] if there is an interest.
If so, should that be against master only or 18.x / 2.12.x as well? ( I'm
not sure it would change any public API signatures eg. returning an
org.jdom2.Element instead of an org.jdom.Element)
