i know this low-fi gimmick won't fully serve the purpose, but the premiere
issue of make magazine had a how-to (http://www.makezine.com/01/KAP/) on aerial
kite photography.

the article author maintains a website (http://arch.ced.berkeley.edu/kap/) and even has some burning man photographs (http://arch.ced.berkeley.edu/kap/gallery/gal187.html) in his gallery.
