There is an easy to use service that will convert US phone numbers to address; while not free it *IS* free to try for a month or 500 uses, whichever comes first.  After that it is about USD .10 a look up.  They claim a 75%-80% hit rate.  I checked my home number and they had it right.  Once you have an address you reverse geo-code the address to get a lat/lon.  I have always thought this would be a good way to enter locations on a handset.  Instead of multi-tapping a street address, just enter the phone number of your location and/or destination.
