Mikel seems to be saying the things I'm feeling, which spooks me. I don't know if it's because we have some shared pessimism upon returning to "camp reality", but it seems like the current trajectory is not a favorable one.
I don't have any gold and weapon stockpiles, but I already have started stockpiling in other ways because of my increased awareness of potential for disasters ala Katrina. There is nothing to fear but fear itself, or more to the point, the fear that manifests in others, an the ability of your neighbors to rain shit upon your happy world. The prospect of a renewed culture wars amidst the potential for super-threats scares me on a deep level. It feels all too much like name calling while the ocean of society is drawing back to form the crest of a tsunami. Hockey mom horrors indeed. nym On Fri, Sep 5, 2008 at 11:26 AM, Mikel Maron <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Does it really need to be pointed out that we're all thinking "Bowel > Movement"? > That's exactly what we're giving each other on a daily basis. > > > Just this morning, noticed that Google had added data for Israel and the West > Bank. > It's quite a bizarre data set .. no street names, sporadic West Bank > coverage, an unexplained "P in a house" symbol (anyone?) > This follows on from starting a project one month ago to map the West Bank > for the public domain, using OSM tools. > > http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=31.747128,35.199616&spn=0.01343,0.021887&z=16 > http://brainoff.com/weblog/2008/08/17/1349 > > > Coincidence?
