That would be fun. As would actually attending wherecamp sometime :)

So I've started trying to hack something.

1. I grabbeded the gzip'd mailboxes of this list from
http://lists.burri.to/pipermail/geowanking/

2. extracted sender emails and counted, sorted these.

3. started playing around wiring this up to Google's Social Graph API,
so that we can properly count when someone is using from multiple email
addresses known to be of same person. And to find blogs, twitter, photos
etc.

As far as I've got so far is checked into svn here:

http://svn.foaf-project.org/foaftown/geo/geoff/

Notes:

Sample output:

Now there must already be better code around for summarising mbox list
archives. I don't want to re-do that.

But I would like to be able to feed these email addresses (hashed or
unhashed) to services like Google SGAPI to see what else they're
publically linked with. Actually I've code for that written already but
I couldn't quite track it down! The beginnings of a crude rewrite are in
svn but I have to run now, so thought I'd post what I have. Partly this
is a matter of just getting the url encoding of calls to the Google API
right, partly a matter of dealing with the data that comes back and
seeing what % of geowanker participants can be matched up this way. For
exampel,

Hope this quick scribble makes some sense,

cheers,

Dan
