Miranda, you are exactly right. This situation makes it even more obvious
that one of the most important tools to fight both the problems Miranda
raises— authoritarianism and climate change— is to increase nuclear
capacity globally and especially in those polities that are so dependent on
authoritarian fossil fuels. Sadly, most of the world, including Germany is
pursuing the polar opposite course.

Perhaps it could offer some measure of hope in these trying times.
