International and Environmental Studies in Hong Kong: Postgraduate
Studentships

Students interested in conducting research in international and
environmental studies are encouraged to apply for residential postgraduate
("graduate" in the American lexicon) places in the Social Sciences Program
at Lingnan University, Hong Kong.

We normally accept students for MPhil research, but in exceptional cases we
can consider accepting students for PhD work.

Students accepted into our very small program are normally given free
tuition and generous studentships that cover living costs. Funding is often
available for students to attend international conferences. Students are
normally expected to reside in Hong Kong during term times unless granted
research leave.

We are particularly interested in students who might benefit from studying
in Hong Kong, and I would especially welcome applications from students who
want to conduct research in any aspect of global environmental politics,
environmental foreign policy, international environmental justice, Chinese
environmental foreign policy, the politics of animal rights in China and
similar topics.

In August 2007 we will be forming a new Department of Political Science,
which will split off from the current Department of Politics and Sociology.
This will allow us to continue giving students quality supervision in their
postgraduate research.
