The Department of Political Science at the University of Alaska Fairbanks
invites applications for a tenure track position in Political Theory at the
Assistant Professor level. Applicants will have training in the history of
political ideas and contemporary political philosophy. We are looking for
candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate education, an active
research agenda and willingness to contribute to the development of our MA
program in Political Science. The position requires teaching core courses in
classical and modern political theory, ethics and society, political
ideologies, and American political thought. We seek a candidate with
secondary expertise in either American or public law subfields, though
others may be considered. Preferred candidates will have teaching or
research interests in environmental political theory. UAF is the flagship
campus of the University of Alaska system with a diverse student body and
favorable faculty-student ratios. Review of applications begins December 1,
