Hi GEPers, I am Kai Sun, visiting scholar at Political Science Department, University of Massachusetts Amherst ( teaching global environmental politics and policy at School of Law and Politics, Ocean University of China ).I have been following the list for quite a while.
I know it is near the end of the semester and do excuse me for jaming your inbox. A well respected Chinese magazine “World Environment” ( follow this link, http://www.wem.org.cn/english/index.html you may get a sense of what this magazine is like ) is very satisfied with my interview with Peter here at Umass discussing epistemic community, global environmental governance and also the forthcoming Copenhagen conference for their November issue with the cover story on Copenhagen Conference. This magazine is sponsored by Chinese Environment Protection Ministry. And they are now preparing for another topic in sustainable consumption and asking me for recommendation. So, I wonder whether there are someone in this list is one of the go-to-person in this field ( I know Peter Dauvergne is one of them, but he has other commitments right now ) and would like to contribute a piece on sustainable consumption, green consumption, or green choice, etc. This should be 2-3 pages long opinion piece, or viewpoints are all fine. The World Environment is not a rigorous academic journal, it is a policy oriented magazine, maybe a bit like Environment here in US. I will handle all the translation and it will appear in Chinese. You may write a short proposal first, or you can just forward your prepared piece to me. Please let me know or you can point me to someone who mignt interesed or is a go-to-person in this field. The deadline from the editor is December 20. The earlier, the better. Because I need to get the translation done. Thanks, Kai Sun UMass Amherst [email protected]
