I recently bought two baby females and I had them for two days and one of
them died!!
I have to say that I didn't do anything to hurt it and I was devastated when
I found that it had died, I think it had diorreha, and the poor little baby
breathed its last breaths and died in my hand.
I scrubbed the tank out and the lonely sister was left for a few days on her
own.
Yesterday I bought another Baby it is younger and more dumpy with a shorter
tail than my other (Ori). they didn't get on for the first day and I spent a
lot of time with them to get them used to each other on the sofa and with a
cage partition. the two babes now tolerate each other but they don't really
talk or sleep together at all, in fact they keep to separate ends of the
cage, the older one choosing the better warmer end. Will they continue not
to be friends and hate each other or will they begin to be friends and sleep
together??? I am concerned but they do seem to smell each other a lot and
walk over each other??? will someone tell me what is going on here..its my
first pair of gerbils... pther times I've had single ones
