Do not buy any gerbils or any animals (fish is ok) from petco. They do not
sex out there animals. I bought 2 gerbils (first time too) and in less then
2 weeks after I was told they were male - I ended up with 6 pups. After 1
week I as down to 4 pups. I am keeping the male gerbil name nutty (color and
they way he acts) and decided I was going to keep 2 male pups, they get
along very well with nutty.
But the female - well, they are going back. I can't take the risk of having
more surprises.
