It may depend on the store.  I bought a single female from  them two years
ago and it has been one of y best mom's.   The people working there sexed
it correctly and the gerbils were segregated by sex.  At least the Petco in
Nashua NH USA was ok in that regards.  I usually avoid it for its higher
prices and stuff.
