The problem is that Tyzzers can exist for months without symptoms.
There is no guarantee that an antibiotic will remove infections like
Tyzzer's from a population.

Because Tyzzer's is usually brought to the surface by stress couple of
weeks quarantine is safer than drugs. Drugs may even hide the symptoms.
There are problems with several antibiotics in that long term use can
effect bones and teeth so it should be avoided unless disease is
apparent are a real risk.
