I have what I assume to be a dove and a dove spot
breeding pair. They have had two litters, eight babies in each
litter. Out of sixteen babies I have gotten 15 lilacs and doves. The
sixteenth baby appears to be a pink eyed white. If you look very, very
closely and use your imagination, you can see some darker hairs scattered in
among the white. I am assuming her genetics are

However, statistically wouldn't more than one baby out of
sixteen be white--shouldn't around 25% be white? Is it possible she is
something else--maybe a light lilac with an extensive spotting gene or something
that makes her appear white. Could her parents really be lilacs and not
doves?
Let me know what you think. Thanks a bunch!
