Hi all. About two weeks ago, two of my breeding pairs had pups within one
day of each other. Viola (red fox, aaCCeeG-pp)and Othello(black, aaCCEeG-Pp)
had two and a stillborn and the day before that, Rosaline(red fox,
aaC-eeG-pp) and Mercutio(Spotted nutmeg aaC-eeG-PP) had six. In order to
keep Viola and Othello's alive, I fostered two of Rosaline's to Viola. All
of Rosaline's are nutmeg(three with and three without spots), and one of
Viola's is nutmeg and one lilac. As they grow hair, all of
Rosaline's(including those without spots) are 2-3 shades lighter than
Viola's. Could this be the result of recessive genes? Any help would be
appreciated :)
Thanks,
Sarah
