Hi all..Thanks for all the help with my little pup..but it didn't make it.
It was very hard to get it to drink anything at all..it just seemed to clogg
up it's mouth so I'd remove it with a paper towel so it wouldn't choke.
As far as records for the pup count the pup belonged to Kyko and Ivory. The
other 4 look fine...hopefully they'll stay that way.
As far as the mother (I posted earlier I'd discuss her):
When I first got her she was quite sweet..always willing to sit on your
shoulder..but a little skiddish when it came to picking her up. I've never
been able to get her to eat out of my hand. She runs behind something and
sits really still until I'm gone most of the time and thumps at me a lot. I
think she seems worse now that she's had pups. I tried holding her a couple
days ago and she launched out of my hand and I spent 30min. trying to catch
her after she ran under the sofa. The father doesn't have a problem with me
and is always willing to take a treat. As far as her taking care of her
pups, she likes to dig in the nest and I often find stray pups around the
tank (she has her nest in a small upright jar..I had the jar in it's
side..but then she'd always bury the pups with her digging) When she finds
one she never returns it to the nest..rather takes it to where the male
sleeps and leaves it with him...or sticks it in some corner or cage toy.
This is her first litter..so maybe this one just made her nervous. Any ideas
would be helpful..but I plan on separating that pair if she doesn't treat her
second litter well.
