Hi!

There is a little gerbil info on the internet written for veterinarians.

There is a good page on Tyzzer's disease

http://www.criver.com/techdocs/94fal_tb/index.htm

and a page on gerbil pathology:

http://netvet.wustl.edu/org/AWIC/misc/gerbils.htm

I have page covering many gerbil diseases and injuries expressing the
experience of an experienced gerbil keeper.

http://www.gerbils.co.uk/gerbils/ailments.htm

There are a couple of veterinary books I have seen that have useful
info.

DISEASES OF SMALL DOMESTIC RODENTS, Richardson V, Blackwell Science,
1997,75-105

THE LABORATORY HAMSTER AND GERBIL, Field K J, and Sibold A L , CRC
Press, 1999, 0-8493-2566-8

I would expect both to be available through websites like Amazon.com.

Whatever you do, remember that veterinary books, whilst good from the
veterinary side, often contain incorrect info on animal husbandry.

It is worth being aware of the advice by experienced gerbil keepers on
websites like www.gerbils.co.uk and www.gerbils.org.

The gerbil FAQ, at http://www.gerbils.co.uk/gerbils/gerbfaq.htm

is an important resource.

I hope this is useful.
