It sure doesnt look like it!
>But I am trying to make the point
>that it is more important to make sure that your gerbils go to people
>who will value them rather than raising the price so they will go to

As I described inother messages:
1) There are ways to make an animal technically "worth" more monetarily
without actually charging the person. (See the message about the teenager
who wanted to breed rats and got their first breedign animals for free by
"working" for me and havign their "payment" "pay" for the animals (which
that "work" was actually a mentorship in animal care to get them off to the
right start).
2) Money as i have said several times is only ONE way of protecting the
aniamls (particularily if a situation ever SHOULD go to court!) It in NO
WAY replaces personal interveiws, refferals, vet contacts, watching the
person and animal interact, use of adoption/sale contracts etc etc.. NONE
of those things even by themselves are totally effective. What I have been
sayign from the start is using these things in combination. By using these
things in combination and by keeping point #1 above in mind, you are not
carelessly putting animals in the hands of those wanting "only profit". You
have all the same PREVIOUS safeguards- PLUS some.
>I am speaking from extensive
>experience of people in action.
As am I speaking from extensive experience in interacting with people in
reguards to both wild and domestic animal protection/welfare, pet adoptions
and pet sales.
The difference is, im talkign about my experiences in the country I that I
am talkign about. you are tryign to take your experiences in your country
and apply them to how you think things SHOULD work in another, yet vastly
different country. I wouldnt attempt to dictate to you how one should do
things in england, because I havent the experience of actually living there
and dealing with the way that country operates. If I did try to tell the
british how they should do things based on how america does- Id just make a
fool of myself.
