Hi Everyone,

Thought that you might like to share our latest funny Gerbil escapade!!!

Normally, when we put cardboard boxes into our Gerbil enclosures, we tear
them up a bit. But this afternoon we put one whole "Sugar Puffs" box into
an enclosure with two young females. We not only put the box into their
enclosure, but we balanced it on a cube of wood so that it rocked from side
to side.

To our pleasant surprise, these two girls ignored the opportunity to chew
the thing to bits and instead started to learn how to skate! Yes, "Ice"
skating on the box top. One of the Gerbils would tear around to the side of
the box that was lowered and mount the box, running furiously against the
side that was tipping, until gravity won and off they slipped. Then the
other one jumped on and tried to stay put.

No joking, they had the time of their young lives until the box tipped too
far off the block to be used in this way. As I am typing this they are
sitting at the front of their enclosure glass with that indignant, "Well
Come On! Set it up again!!!" look all over their young faces... Oh well, I
suppose I had better obey...

All the very best,

David Hinsley,
