I have either a black or slate male, and I can't determine which he is.
he has a black coat, but not very glossy, just a little shine. That made
me think he was a black, but then today I noticed he has some white hairs
on his tail and sides. I read the email to someone else that said to
check the toenails, so I did and they look more brown than black. But
then I went to the gerbil color pallet and it said the nails of a slate
were black. So now I'm totally confused. He is only a couple months old
so I know the white hairs could not be because of age. If anyone has any
knowledge I could use please send it! It's not a matter of life or
death, but I still would like to know. Thank you! Bob @
