I don't think most female pairs fight. I would have thought that an
established pair are likely to stay together fine.
I would say the most important factors, from our experience and what we
have been told, are:
a) A mother with a daughter are more likely to fight than two sisters
from the same litter.
This is probably because the mother as she ages becomes prime material
for a challenge over dominance.
b) Larger complicated tanks/cages cause more trouble. Smaller simpler
enclosures with minimum toys provide less to fight over. I know several
people with two linked tanks that have found that it seems to lead to
trouble.
