Shreded Paper

Hello.

Recently I noticed that two of my gerbils are ellergic to aspen bedding, so I
was wondering if I could put them on shreded paper. At my grandma's work they
shred paper up and she said she could bring me a big bag of it home, would
this be alright to use?
