Dogs also help people as guard dogs, guide dogs, alert dogs, search and
rescue dogs, cart dogs, tracking dogs, hunting dogs, mushing dogs, "three
dog night" dogs, herding dogs...ad nauseam
IF my gerbils ever thumped distress over an intruder, I don't think I would
even wake up. I guarantee that my corgi would wake me, unless she had
already "taken care" of the intruder as only a Welsh cattle dog could. She
also makes a good "three dog night" dog--keeping my feet warm on cold
nights. She also plays outside with my boys. (Don't get me started on
dogs.)
