My female, Gerri, had eight pups five weeks ago. It was our first litter.
Five of the pups survived. I *think* there are four females and one male.
I'd like to find good homes for the females, so if anyone in the Leicester,
UK area is interested, please get in touch. One of them is agouti, two
black, and one argente golden. I think these are the colours, but I only
have pictures on websites to go by so I could be wrong.
If I can't find homes for them, is it safe to keep four females together?
I have a six month old female who lives by herself. If I use the split cage
method, what are the chances that she'll make friends with one of the pups?
Although I removed the father not long after they were born, it appears I
was too late to prevent Gerri from getting pregnant again. She looks and
feels like she did just before she had her first litter.
What is the best thing to do with the five week old pups?
Is it best to leave them with their mother until I find new homes for them?
Will they help when the new babies arrive, or will they be a hindrance?
I suspect Gerri is due to give birth very soon - maybe tonight, so if I need
to remove them first I need to act fast.
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Jeff.
