Oh, this is awful, I just had to bury one of my favorite gerbs today =(
Yeasterday I found my boy Zeus, dead in his aquarium. He hadn't shown
any signs of lethargy or anything prior to this... However about a month
ago I separated him from his mate Minerva, with 2 of his sons and
Minerva with some daughters. Since then, I did notice he was a little
thinner, but not boney at all... however is it possible he died out of
sadness/pining?! This isn't the first time I've had a gerbil's mate die
soon after its partner died (or in this case was removed). It's
important that I be reassured that this wasn't the case, because I'm
going to separate another one of my pairs (the last breeding pair) soon
and they're 2 of my favorites, and I'd hate for the same thing to happen
to them... =(
Why is it my favorite gerbs ALWAYS die sooner??
