Janet - If you supplement they wont be as hungry to nurse. The mom needs
the pups to nurse in order to simulate milk flow. If the pups don't
nurse often enough she will dry up. Let mom care for them. It will be
harder to feed them yourself, they run the risk of being aspirated.

Supplemental feeding is better for runts who are not getting enough milk
because of siblings pushing them away or are weak.
