For the litter Alan helped reared, he slept in a separate nest the first
week, was also a harded pup-stealer and also appeared to take the same
one back to his nest every time (the little argente cream girl).  Have
other people experienced their gerbil-dad's snatching a pup for
company?  And did he have a favorite?  If so, I'm wondering how he could
tell them apart?  Does each pup have its own smell?
