A fan would definitely work, but just make sure it's not blowing directly
inside the cage, because you don't want your gerbils in a full-time draft.
Keeping their water cold (but not ice-cold) and fresh will help them cool
off, and I also like putting ceramic and metal dishes and such in there
because they tend to feel cold and, even though the parents will sometimes
curl up and get relief from it, pups usually just slide on it :o)
