I also use Outlook, and cannot use the threadmarkers for sorting, but I can
visually identify the messages a bit easier with them.
What I suggest is that we use them at the end of each subject. If you use
them in front you defeat the purpose as soon as someone posts a reply.
Every message subject would look like - RE:M:Subject. This is even more
distracting.
If everyone were to use them on the end of a BRIEF subject they would do
wonders. I stress the word brief because most people have e-mail systems
that truncate the subject line unless you open the message. So, a good
thread would look like - GML Charter:M
RE:GML Charter:M
Much easier to quickly identify in my opinion.
