Exactly.   Which is why I wouldn't do it.

I've been active in cat and dog rescue for years.....  placing a gerbil is no
less important for me.  I want to know where they're going and keep in contact
with the adopter.   That's important with good dog and cat breeders.... Why
should it be any different for rodents?
