A correction needs to be made here...It is not "Animals,ETC." it is Mammals,
ETC." Robert McCracken runs this company out of New York, NY. He is
advertised in Critters USA. I have info to contact him if anyone is
interested.

 Subject: Sick and Dying Animals...

 > I wanted to warn all you animal lovers about a specific place that I've
 > encountered. I worked at a place called "The Pet Company" for 3 months. In
 > that time, every small animal shipment we recieved included sick and dying
 > animals. Rabbits, ferrets, mice, gerbil, birds and even a chinchilla
 died.. I
 > rushed what I could to the vet and paid out of my own pocket. The company
 > that supplies to that store said "death happens". So I called the USDA.
 And
 > NBC. And the police. The company is called Animals Etc. They sell to "The
 Pet
 > Company" stores, as well as Paradise Pets, Petco and many many others up
 and
 > down the East coast. NBC News in Philadelphia and I did some
 investigating,
 > and it turns out every store that receives from them, has had the same
 > problem. They were shut down in a few states before moving to Delran, NJ.
 BIG
 > mistake. You don't mess with Kris when it comes to animals. They have over
 > 200 rabbits on premisis that that breed.. and they're killing them. From
 past
 > inspection reports, dead animals were left in the cages, excrement was not
 > cleaned for months at a time.. It was puppy mills but with beloved
 rabbits.
 > My dear Hershey, Tribble (already found a home for him), and my newest
 > rescue, Mira were all rescued, dying in the pet stores that got them from
 > Animals Etc. I also spent my entire spring break caring for 15 sick
 rabbits
 > our pet store got at Easter. Every single one died. I am sick of the
 > heartbreak, and asking you one favor: If you go into a pet store, ask
 where
 > they get thier small animals from. If you find out that it's Animals Etc,
 > DONT GO BACK. Tell them that you refuse to deal with people that buy sick
 and
 > dying animals and turn your back on the store.
