Ya know, in a pinch once I used some volcano ash.  I believe it was from Mt.
Redoubt.  We collected the ash years ago when an eruption covered Anchorage
quite thoroughly.  A couple of Christmases ago, I used the saved ash for
Mike&Ike.  They seemed to like it as much as their regular chin dust.
