Hurt Tail

My gerbils Nickodemus has had a spot on his tail for
over two weeks now. First i thought it was a bite mark
but it more looks like a perfect circle. It is totally
bald and looks like it was a scab but not really,It is
very hard to describe. I never see him licking it or
acting like it hurts him. What should i do?
