I originally joined this list several years ago (2-3 yrs?) when we
acquired a pair of lovely Irish Burmese boys, Zip & Speck. I enjoyed
"meeting" all the gerbil lovers on this list, and so I know I'll have
your sympathy as I report that the last of the boys passed away
today. I'm more bothered by it than I expected I would be.
I promised myself I wouldn't replace them, but as I look at that
lovely cage (a rat cage that now has three levels, a climbing "tree",
and lots of toys), I think it looks so empty and lonely. Perhaps, if
the "school" gerbils I'm babysitting over the Easter break have
another litter, I'll keep some of the pups.
