I am no gerbil expert in any way, but I took the wheel out of my gerbil's happy home several months ago with no apparent negative effects.  I took it out because Nice and Kind used it only for a bathroom, never for running.  It was hard to clean, and I just got tired of it, so I removed it and put a jelly jar in the cage which they immediately started using for a bathroom.  It's much easier to clean.   Their cage is multi-level with tubes and ladders to run up and down, so they get plenty of exercise. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jason Darnell To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, June 23, 2001 1:21 PM Subject: Exercise Wheel Is it really necessary to have a exercise wheel in the gerbils cage or can you get by without havin one?
