Hi- My gerbil family has suffered it's biggest loss. Angel, my first and oldest gerbil, died last night. With no signs of injury, we assume she died of stroke. When we bought Angel, a little black girl, a little over four years ago, she lived with a little unnamed gerbil who died a week later due to human error. It was then that Angel was successfully introduced to Norm, a pyscho agouti. Together they raised 5 litters of pups including the famous Mike & Ike. Eventually, Angel and Norm were separated due to fighting. For about a year, Angel lived with Little Girl, a tiny black from her last litter. Then, they too started fighting. Angel spent the rest of her life alone. She loved to chew cardboard. Her black fur became speckled with white as she aged. She traveled from Fairbanks to Tucson in the back of our truck.
