Janet,

Yes I have had this little scenario happen to me. The mother would raise the litter and I would of course leave the whole clan together because I have a big 20 gal long aquaruim. On the second litter the first litters males are about 10 weeks old and I had one that competed with his dad when mom was in heat. I am in the process of waiting for that litter to be born. I didn't do it on purpose. I thought the dad would put the little boy in his place and do the breeding alone. All the other times except for this one the dad bred alone and other young males just ignored the whole thing. I am going to keep this little young upstart and have named him samson. He is a beatiful argente male. I don't know who I will pair him up with so now I will have him in the boy tank until I find suitable mate.
