I have had two black gerbils, and have not found them to be more aggressive.
One lived to be very old, and lived to be the tamest, sweetest gerbil
ever! I let her run around my apartment, and eventually she never ran away
at all when I went to put her back in her home. If I was sitting by the
table or on the couch eating something "yummy", she would climb up into my
lap to ask for a taste, then eat it right there! My other black gerbil is
sweet but rather shy. Both are very gentle with their companions.
Of course, as already noted, these are just personal experiences, so I
really have no idea if black gerbils are, on average, more aggressive. =)
