Our black gerbil, Bilbo, is not as aggressive as our
dove, Sam. Bilbo has a very sweet nature, but he
doesn't like to be held as much as Sam does. Sam is
the one that is most likely to climb up your arm when
you put your hand in the tank and he is always ready
to get out for exercise. Bilbo has to be coaxed out
most times.
Frodo,also a black, was more adventuresome than Bilbo
but still very sweet and friendly. Sam is more
unpredictable. He is usually sweet but he also has
times when he doesn't want to be bothered with us and
he is not afraid to use his teeth to make his point!
We have learned to pay close attention to Sam's mood.
But we love them both just as they are.
