Yes, I too believe the little black flakes are
evidence of fleas rather than lice or mites. The
flaky things that crumble when you touch them are
droppings. If it is tiny, tiny and hard as a rock; can
only be crushed between two fingernails, it is a flea
egg. Eggs take around 30 days to hatch.
Interesting fact I read somewhere, In a years time two
fleas could produce up to 3 trillion offspring. But
don't let that frighten you. If you treat this quickly
things should not get so out of hand.
