Well, I just figured out that the sister I thought knew how to drink was actually only nibbling the outside rim of the metal, I guess expecting it to drip. When I squeezed the bottle, she would drink, but then when I stopped she would get frustrated because her efforts weren't working. A few times she nibbled more in the center where she's supposed to, but as soon as she heard the little ball bearing move, she would back away. So if I have 2 gerbils who are about 2 months old and do not know how to drink, how in the world do I teach them? I tried putting their water in a bottle cap, but they didn't like that it got up their noses.
